Want to understand vehicle classes in France?
Whether you're driving a motorcycle, car, RV, or heavy-duty truck with tollbadge your toll is calculated based on your vehicle's class using your toll tag.
Class 1 : Light vehicles
Passenger vehicles, height less than 2 m, with or without trailer: saloon, coupé, cabriolet, station wagon, minivan, small utility vehicle, 4x4 etc.
Class 2 : Intermediate vehicles
Types of vehicles: Van or motorhome, less than 3 m high, pick-up with camper, class 1 vehicle towing a caravan or trailer.
Class 5 : Motorcycles, sidecars
Types of vehicles: Motorcycles and sidecars.
For the correct application of the prices, motorcycles and sidecars must also keep a distance of 4 m from the preceding vehicle.
Note: Lanes with a height gauge are prohibited for motorcycles.
For motorcyclists, so that your badge is correctly detected by the electronic toll terminal, place it as follows:
- in the windscreen at the front of the motorcycle (with the badge label facing the ground).
- in the tank bag, in the road map compartment with a transparent front (with the badge label facing the ground).
- in an Electronic toll badge armband, with the label facing you).
- in the pocket of your jacket, if you don’t have a windscreen, tank bag or armband (with the badge label towards you).
You will not be able to use the Fulli electronic toll badge with these vehicles....
Class 3 – Heavy goods vehicles, coaches, and other 2-axle vehicles
To be classified as a Class 3 vehicle, the vehicle must be 3m or taller or have a total weight of more than 3.5t.
These vehicles are usually heavy goods vehicles, coaches and other 2-axle vehicles, small heavy goods vehicles with a total weight (GVW) greater than 3.5 tons, and motorhomes over 3 meters long.
Please note that these vehicles are not eligible for the Fulli electronic toll badge.
Class 4 - Heavy goods vehicles and other vehicles with 3 or more axles
To be classified as a Class 4 vehicle, the vehicle must be 3 meters high or taller, or have a total weight of more than 3.5 tons.
These vehicles are usually heavy goods vehicles, combinations with a total height greater than or equal to 3 meters, or combinations with a tractor vehicle with a gross vehicle weight rating greater than 3.5 tons.
Please note that these vehicles are not permitted to use the Fulli electronic toll badge.
