The A79, France's first free-flow freeway

The A79, the new-generation highway
The A79 highway, nicknamed La Bourbonnaise, is a French freeway linking Montmarault to Digoin. 92 km long, it is the former Route Centre-Europe Atlantique (RCEA), of which it forms the central section, and European Route 62. It will be opened to traffic on November 4, 2022, and inaugurated on November 14. Crossing the department of Allier from west to east, this freeway replaces route nationale 79.
The A79 is the first highway in France to be equipped with free-flow tolls (non-stop for all vehicles).
