New name for Renault's charging network: Mobilize becomes Plug Inn

In 2023, Renault launched Mobilize, an app that connects electric vehicle drivers with owners of private charging stations. As the business has evolved, and with the goal of bringing together charging activities and related services under a single brand, Renault announced the new name in early April: Plug Inn.

A fresh start with Plug Inn?

Why is Renault updating the brand identity of its charging network?

In a press release issued on April 7, Renault announced the new name for its charging operations: Plug Inn. The new name is intended to “improve strategic consistency, operational efficiency, and clarity for drivers.” Plug Inn encompasses two types of charging:

  • Fast charge: an ultra-fast charging network capable of delivering up to 320 kW
  • Powerbox: bidirectional charging, also known as V2G

What does this change mean for your daily commutes?

The rollout will be gradual, beginning in April 2026 and continuing through the end of the year. As part of its plan to expand the network, which currently consists of 70 charging stations, the Renault Group has announced a goal of 93 stations accessible to everyone by the end of 2026.

These charging stations, open to everyone—not just owners of Renault electric vehicles—will be more accessible and located at dealerships near businesses and major highways.

Plug Inn is a name that everyone can embrace—a strong, memorable brand that is easily understood worldwide. “PLUG” is directly associated with electric charging, while “INN” evokes the hospitality, comfort, and service of the hotel industry.

How does it work?

  • Plug in and charge: Follow the instructions on the station’s screen and pay with your Fulli charging card or credit card. Connect the plug to your vehicle. Charging begins immediately.
  • Access the lounge: For stations equipped with a lounge, an access code will appear on the station’s screen. Be sure to write down this code and enter it on the digital keypad at the entrance to the lounge.
