Frequently asked questions: How do I use my electronic toll tag with my heavy goods vehicle?
What are the right reflexes to follow when driving your truck to the toll booth?
Slow down when you get to the toll plaza, as signs will tell you how fast to go before you reach it. Anticipate which toll lane to take, by choosing your lane in advance.
Which lane should I take at the tollbooth when driving a truck?
Thanks to the electronic toll tag attached to your truck's windscreen, you can use the lanes marked with an orange T at the top of the toll lanes. If you drive in the lanes marked “T30”, you won't need to stop.
On larger toll plazas with several lanes, you'll need to drive in the lanes furthest to the right of the toll plaza. Once you've passed the tollgate, you won't have to cut across all the lanes, so you can get back on the road with ease.
With a truck, what should you do if your electronic toll tag breaks down while you're passing through the toll plaza?
If your badge is out of order, you need to inform the other cars that you have a problem, so put on your hazard lights to warn other drivers. Then go to the intercom located at the toll booth. Someone will be there to help you 24 hours a day.
Please note, however, that under no circumstances should you reverse into the toll lane, as this operation is extremely dangerous for you and for other road users. In addition, you must never get out of your vehicle and move on the lanes.
